The Electrical Safety Fund is now open for applications
We are committed to helping those who are most vulnerable to electrical risk and injury in their homes.
Electrical house fires remain the leading cause of domestic fires in the UK, with new risks emerging - particularly from unsafe e-bike and e-scooter batteries. Too often, it is the most vulnerable households that face the greatest dangers.
In response, the Electrical Safety Fund has been enhanced to support a wider range of projects and now has £1 million available for grants.
Alongside its established focus on tackling unsafe electrical products and raising awareness, this year the Fund will also support initiatives addressing risks linked to electrical installations in the home.
Applications that align with our ongoing campaigns, such as Battery Breakdown and Don’t Be Electricked are especially welcome.
By applying to the Electrical Safety Fund, your organisation or community group can receive support to:
- Tackle risks associated with unsafe electrical products and installations
- Raise awareness of electrical safety and encourage safer behaviours
- Deliver practical solutions, such as removing or repairing faulty products and installations
Funding can support a wide range of activities, including product testing, repair, and replacement events; educational workshops and events; awareness raising activities; and home safety installation interventions.
Together, this work helps prevent accidents, protect lives, and creates safer homes.
The Electrical Safety Fund is now open for applications and will close on 12 October 2025.
